I stayed there last May and thought it was fine. I may not be your best reviewer, though, since I wasn't with a family. Depends what you're really looking for. I was happy that the air conditioning worked well and wasn't noisy, and that the tap water didn't smell too much of chorine. I loved the beach. Beautiful and not crowded. Especially beautiful around sunset. The pools didn't seem crowded, either. The food was adequate; I didn't have anything either special or offensive. Do you have any particular questions?

I've stayed here a couple of times for business and once for pleasure and it's very nice. The whole complex is huge and it sits on a great, long beach that's very nice. You can watch the dolphins going buy in the morning and early evening. They renovated last year and the newly done pool area is quite nice - the kids seem to enjoy it.
There is a little pizza/deli near the pool area where you can buy lunch or snack stuff. There's a game room for kids. I love the Hidalgo coffee shop inside the hotel and there are several clothing/boutique shops inside as well.
Only down side I can think of is that they are very slow to have your room ready. I tried to check in about 2PM and my room wasn't ready for 2 hours.
I would stay at this property again, for sure.

Emily, almost all Marriott's have a 4 p.m. check in. They will try to accomodate you if you request an early check in but often can not do so.

We haven't been to this hotel for a while but I always loved its beach and it now has a new elaborate spa which should make it more attractive.

Quinns on the Beach is a beach side bar and restaurant which we always enjoyed for casual dinners right on the beach. Sunset is wonderful here. LMF

Let me clarify my earlier point..
I stay at Marriott 2-3 nites per week every week for business and since I am a Platinum member I can request, and usually get, an early check in.
The Marriott Marco is clearly geared toward the leisure traveler, and because of its' size, cannot accomodate early check ins.

My husband has lifetime Platinum status and even with this we seldom get early check in at their premium resorts. Resort rooms typically require more maintenance (longer stays, families, etc) and are not available for early arrivals but we have always been able to check our bags and go golf or at others go to the spa.
