We were there last week, at the Hilton. It is the nicest hotel there---we checked them all out.
There is a German restaurant across the street which is reasonable and very good. A great place for breakfast is in a mall on Collier, before it splits. I believe it is called Breakfast Plus. The menu is unbelievable. There are a few places in Goodland, which is only 10 min. away. It is a little fishing village. People like Voyagers, attached to the Marriott.

We've been going to Marco for 14 years. My favorites are Kretch's (casual ) for seafood, Bavarian Inn (across from Hilton) Arturro(Italian and pricey), famous for their stuffed pork chop, Voyager at the Marriott Hotel, Konrads and a drink at Quinn's on the beach at the Marriott for sunset.

we are going to fort Myers area in July . Have already done priceline.com for the air and hotel we got pretty good deals. But we are affraid for the hotel as we would like one on the beach. we can't decide between marco island or sanibel. Are thinking of renting a condo? we stayed at the Radissen 6 years ago it was nice but we have two children ages 5 and 6 and would like more room and a washer and dryer in the unit. Any one have any suggestions or ideas? Has anyone ever used priceline.com for a hotel in marco island and or sanibel,fl. e-mail at [email protected]. thanks last year we stayed at the gullwing in fort myers beach was beautiful but they want at least 200 a night during July.

I live in Naples and generally knock Marco Island, but last night was so beautiful, we put the top down and started driving. Ended up at Goodland, the old fishing village just off the end of Marco Island. Ate at the "Little Bar", an incredibly popular place with an oversized bar, "entertainment", and four dining rooms including the big screened porch. Really good food, worth the wait (we waited nearly an hour arriving at 8:30 for an outside spot -- although they do take reservations), and is a fun "old Florida" dining experience.
