Marc Chagall windows at UN - not available to view until 2015
Good afternoon
I finally heard back from the UN and thought I would pass this on to anyone planning a trip to NYC.
The section of the UN which contains the Marc Chagall windows is under construction and is not open to the public until it is done. Estimated date is 2015 sometime.
Bummer.

I saw some of his windows in Reims, and there is a church in the Hudson Valley that has some as well. But I won't see the UN ones any time soon...
I saw a Marc Chagall exhibit in Monaco at least a decade ago. That was a treat.

The Chagall windows in a previously mentioned Hudson Valley church are located in the Union Church in Pocantico Hills, which is adjacent to Tarrytown. A good day trip (less than 30 miles from the city and easily attainable by Metro North)would include a visit to the church along with the nearby Kykuit, the magnificent Rockfeller estate. For more information, check out hudsonvalley.org.

Such beautiful photos, thank you. And thank you for the references to the other places to view his work.
I have a lithograph of an early version (a study) of one of his "12 windows" from the Hadassah Medical Center which I bought in Amsterdam. I did not take the below photo, but, it's the second from the right.

When you set out on your quest to see some of Chagall's works, here's a good song to have in your playlist...

The Weinstein Gallery in San Francisco has a number of works by Chagall. They had a rather large one on display that I don't see on their website now. I think it was a Tree of Jesse--not sure that the one below is the same but I love it.
