Manhattan Club

Wondering if anyone ever stayed at The Manhattan Club in NY. Have an op to use a friends timeshare but I did hear some negative reviews and I am concerned. I know the location is good but just wondering about rooms and staff. Spending a week so I do want to be comfortable. Any info will be helpful. Thanks

We spent a week there in March of 2005; family of four. Two kids, two adults. We had a suite--bedroom, living room/euro kitchen with two full baths. We didn't make much use of the staff, but I didn't have any complaints. Place was respectfully clean, and the location was fantastic.

They were remodelling the club area while we were there, and working on the upper stories for other accomodations.

Concierge was helpful. Everything worked, and the bathrooms were nice.

We'd go back.

We purchased a week from someone that couldn't use their timeshare.

If you have specific questions perhaps I can answer them.

Friends offered us their timeshare there once as they had two nights left they were about to lose and we needed two nights on our way to Europe. It was beautiful. We were given an upgraded suite with two full sized bathrooms although there were only two of us. Furnishings seemed brand new and everything was really first class. The staff couldn't have been nicer (although they knew we were guests and wanted us to do a "presentation"). To their credit when I firmly said no, they listened and left us alone.

We gave our son and his new wife a week there in August for their honeymoon and they absolutely loved it. They raved over how nice their unit was and the location is unbeatable.
