Does anyone know a website that shows the typical/historical temperatures for places at different times of the year? Also, any input on if Memorial Day weekend on the southern coast of Maine will be chilly? I have booked a B&B in Ogunquit, so any additional advice on favorite sights, restaurants or things to do in this area would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Too cold for what??? Swimming is probably out of the question unless there is an extreme heat wave. I was in southern vermont last year for mem. day weekend-it was in the 60's. The year before, on mem day weekend it was in the 90's.

The Maine coast at the end of May is definitely not beach weather, although it can be quite pleasant when the winds are blowing from on shore. This time of year is often foggy right on the ocean because of the temperature differences between the air and the water. The Maine Coast has some beautiful sandy beaches in this area, don't miss the Marginal Way walk which starts at Perkin's Cove.

Bring a warm sweater -- walking the beach may be more sweats than shorts weather.

You just never know from year to year. Some years it's warm (not hot) and sunny, other years quite chilly. Historical temperatures, averages, mean, median - all are useless. Best bet is to check the forecast before finalizing your packing. It's turns much cooler at night, as soon as the sun goes down. Perkins Cove and the roads leading to it are full of wonderful places to eat. Here's another recommendation for a walk along the Marginal Way.

We went to Maine in mid-May the year before last. It was in the 60's and 70's during the day, down to around 40 at night. It was perfect for sightseeing. Camden was our favorite town. It is where the mountains meet the ocean. The view from the mountaintop at Camden Hills State Park is surreal.

It will be cool, especially at night, and definitely not beach weather. But cool is relative, and your comfort depends on where you are coming from and if you're menopausal! Ogunquit is charming and I think you will enjoy the area. Best restaurants include Hurricane and Clay Hill Farm in Ogunquit, On the Marsh and Arundel Wharf in Kennebunkport, and the Steak House in Wells (the last two being very casual). There is also a fun traditional clambake in York at Fosters. Antiquing and beach-walking are the main events, along with shopping. There is a really neat bookstore in Ogunquit - can't remember the name - but it is across from the footbridge on the second floor! Of course you'll walk the Marginal Way, and if the weather is nice, you may want to take a boat ride out ... Whale watching or such. Have fun!
