Maine Long Getaway Weekend
Hi,
Helping out my bro-in-law and family...
Any suggestions for a family of 4 (kids 16 & 13) for a long weekend in Maine? Kennebunkport?
They are looking for a relaxing weekend on the water.
Any suggestions what city in Maine to go to?
Also places to stay that are some what reasonable.. Thanks in advance for your help.

Are they looking at this summer? How far are they willing to drive-Bar Harbor? "Somewhat reasonable" is subjective-but if it's in summer which I "assume" because of the kids; then rates will be higher.
Responders will want to know how much they're willing to pay and how far they're willing to drive or airport they're flying into? and what timeframe. Thanks

Hey Donna,
I know a few ppl on this board might not back this suggestion but I would recommend Old Orchard Beach. It has a great beach, a fun Pier, arcades, souvenir shops, mini golf etc, and its only 20mins or so from Portland if they wanted to stop in there. I'm leaving on Sunday for 10days there and staying at a cabin about 1/4 mile from the beach. It's a little cheesy and honky-tonk but that's part of its charm haha!
My parents took my siblings and I when we were young, and we loved it and I still go back because it's a fun place.
Good luck, and if you need any other info you can email me [email protected]
