Magic Mountain
We are going to LA for a few days at the end of September. My husband and daughter are going to magic mountain one day and we have not planned the rest.
If we stay in Santa Clarita, is there any thing for my son and I to do when they go to the amusement park?If we do stay in Santa Clarita, what are some places to stay?
Thanks
Melissa

There are several hotels in Santa Clarita. The closest one to MM is Hilton Garden Inn. On the east side of the freeway is a Holiday Inn Express, and a Best Western. A little farther east on MM Parkway, is the Hyatt Valencia, lovely. This hotel is across the street from the Town Center - mall.
Further south, 3 miles, at Lyons and the west side of I-5 are many hotels;
Comfort Inn, Fairfield, Marriott, Hampton Inn and La Quinta isn't quite finished. From here, you can take "The Old Road" to MM - which is a street that parallels the "5", and goes to MM.
Perhaps Hurricane Harbor will still be open, there are several local parks, and you didn't mention the age of your son. Of course, the mall has restaurants, and a theater, etc.
You may want to go to
www.santa-clarita.com and click on leisure for a helpful list. The last motel mentioned is Santa Clarita Motel. It is not near the park, and personally, I would not stay there. All the others, near the I-5 are fine.

There's a nice putting-only golf course up in the area that is well-kept and fun, www.thegreens.com/Valencia.htm
