Luau in Maui or on Big Island

We will be in Maui and on the Big Island and we want to book a Luau. Which Luau is the best and on which island?

I don't know about the "best" luau, but the Royal Hawaiian luau was recommended by the concierge at our hotel.(This would be in Maui). It was wonderful. I would go again.
Whatever luau you decide to go to, do yourself a huge favor and bring along a camcorder, if you can. Such lovely memories to have forever when you get home.

Drums of the Pacific at the Hyatt on Maui has the best fire knife dancer on the island

Royal Lahaina Luau is probably the best valu luau on Maui because of coupons available including one for 25% off in Entertainment Book. Also coupons in the free brochures.

Old Lahaina Luau is also highly recommended. They do not have a fire knife dancer. So if fire knife dancing is important to you (as it is me), choose a different luau.

Feast at Lele is a good luau.

I don't know anything about luaus on the Big Island

On Maui, Feast of Lele or Old Lahaina Luau, both in Lahaina.

We went to the Hyatt to the luau there. WE were looking forward to it, but were actually very disappointed. It seemed all very hokey. Very expensive for average buffet food. Not a comfortable experience and bordered on ridiculous.
