Lower Keys - best places to stay

Looking forward to vacationing in the Lower Keys next spring with the family (kids 16, 12, 13, 11) with snorkeling, sight seeing, and otherwise relaxing on the agenda. Where are some of the best places to stay? We'll probably be there for 5 - 6 days.

If you want laid back, relaxed, on the water, friendly, and about 28 miles north of Key West, I highly recommend Parmer's Place on Little Torch Key. All kinds of accommodations for decent prices. See parmersplace.com

If, by the Lower Keys, you mean between Marathon and Key West, then Parmer's Place is probably your best bet. There isn't a lot in that stretch south of the 7-Mile bridge.

For all the activities you described Key West would fit the bill!

I vote for Key West. The Hyatt always gets favorable reviews and is on the water!!!

Another thumbs up for Key West and the Hyatt. I think the kids will love it!

Try the Sheraton Suites in Key West. We enjoyed it last year. It is outside of Old Town which can be quite noisy(especially at night-when trying to sleep) . It was very clean, across the street from the public beach, had shuttle buses that ran to the heart of the city every 15-20 minutes(depending on the time of year parking can be a hassle),had a beautiful pool with a cascade, and a jacuzzi. We went snorkeling at Fort Zachary right from the beach, enjoyed the Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square, and enjoyed the restarants and shops. I think you'll like it. Search on the internet for it.

You might consider renting a house for your family.

Dave-Try Parmers Place in Little Torch Key. You should have good weather in October. The place is clean, close to Key West if you want to go there for the day and lots of water activities.
