low rise villa style hotels?
We are looking for a low rise, villa style hotel somewhere in Hawaii, beachfront, snorkeling on site, grocery store and restaurants nearby, nice friendly staff, clean rooms etc. Preferably with full or partial kitchen, patio, ocean view/lanai. Prefer lots of tropical plants, trees, flowers etc on the grounds rather than multistorey highrises. Watersports and tours available nearby? Nightlife not really required. Shopping a plus but not essential. Does this exist in hawaii? All inclusive deal would be great, or just breakfast included also good, but willing to do "room only" if needed.

The Napili Sunset in Maui are especially nice. Although they are not all-inclusive they are located on a beautiful stretch of beach and are very lovely. Website: www.napilisunset.com

SS,
You did not mention what island or price range. Look into ‘Kuhio Shore’ in Koloa on the island of Kauai. It has on site snorkeling right side your lanai. Koloa is located in the southern Sunnyside Poipu Beach area. You can rent a one – two bedroom condo from ‘Kuhio Shores’ or rent an ocean front condo from private owners at http://www.vrbo.com located in ‘Kuhio Shores.’

I can't comment on the Big Island but Maui has some of the low rise buildings you seek in with the high rises. Kauai however has a rule that all buildings will be no higher than a coconot palm-so there are no high rises there! That is where we love to go. Check out grantham.com for a lovely selection of condos on the south shore. Do not miss out on the north shore though-it is spectacular!
