Louisville Oct 13

Our first night away from the kids - woohoo!! Based on previous posts, we are booked at the 21c (it looks so great). Now what? We'll drive in (from Dayton, OH) early Sat and leave Sunday after lunch. Any seasonal delights to experience? I tried the newspaper web site, but it seems to only provide info for the current week. Live music? Plays? Good food? Any tips greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Here are some great links to things going on in the area. http://www.johnpaul.com/links/links.html. Also here's a link with lots of restaurant reviews and also listed by neighbor. http://www.louisvillehotbytes.com/index.php I live in Lexington, but Louisville is a really nice city. The Bardstown road area has lots of small stores with great shopping and restaurants. Hope you have a great trip. Nancy

Bardstown is also the center of 'Bourbon country'. If you have a hankering I would suggest Jim Beam (for the big corporate type experience & Makers Mark (where everything is done by hand) to get the extremes of bourbon making. If Churchill is open, stop by there for a few races as well, the place just oozes history.

SAnParis, thanks for the help - again. Last year it was New Orleans for a girl's weekend trip. We had a great time.

And once again, I can say...
Go Bucks!

Anytime, I actually went to Wright State (many moons ago) for about 7-8 years including school. What part of Dayton, if you don't mind my asking ?

Our trip was postponed due to croup (my 2yo's). Bleh. But we're back on for this weekend. Any weekend events to know about?

SAnParis, we're in Centerville. BTW, my DH was in school for 8 years, so I didn't even blink when I read it - assumed you are a Dr.

No, no Dr. here, a banker. I lived in Kettering after school, I know Centerville quite well (or did anyway). How was Ky. ?
