los angeles Where to Stay???
My wife and I will be in Los Angeles for 5 days in February. We have been to Anaheim and stayed their.
However, we haven't any idea about where to stay, areas to avoid in Los Angeles.
For example, would you recommend staying in Hollywood, West Holywood, beach areas, etc...
Thanks for any comments.

The "beach" areas of Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, Redondo Beach, etc. are all very nice and fairly accessible to LA itself. We lived in the LA area for many yrs and usually stay in this area when we go back. I would not stay in Hollywood - it's rather tacky really.
The "Marina" area is nice, lots of places to eat, etc. Try to get to the Getty Museum if you can, you will need reservations if you are taking a car up there tho. Where you stay really depends on what you want to do and see. Feb. can be cool in the LA area and definately not beach weather, but if it is pleasant out you can walk on the piers, etc.

I would do a lot of research before you go. Stop by HereHuGo.com (http://www.herehugo.com) and visit one of our opinion sites. You can also research and book travel to LA. We also have many different HOT DEALS to La as well.

What is your price range? What sights are you must interested in visting? As LA is so spread out, these two criteria would help you make a selection.
The beach in February isn't the greatest and I happen to like the Hollywood Roosevelt.(Lovely Mission style lobby and the Cinegrill has a cabaret on a regular basis). Yes, Hollywood is tacky, but if you are interested in seeing the stars' footprints and the Chinese theatre you would be right across the street. If you plan to go to the Getty there are hotels that offer shuttle service to the musuem. It really depends on what you want to do. ( I also recommend a search as I know there are postings and suggestions on this topic.)
