You weren't clear with the number of days you had for this trip. Unless you drop a destination or two, even 25 days isn't a generous amount of time. FYI, there is a huge outlet mall in L.A. The Citadel.
I suggest you search the driving times between the various points. If you use maps.google.com, the website is always optimistic, so add about 10% to the estimates and additional time for any meals or sightseeing along the way. For driving within L.A., estimates can be off as much as 50%.

So I also looked at mid June--I chose June12-17-- on booking.com.
Here are a few more to think about:
Villa Brasilia in Culver City. 9.1 customer rating .Average $130/night for your stay.
Travelodge in Culver City. 8.0 customer rating. Average $140/night for your dates.
Possible-- I don't know this area as well. Century Park Hotel LA in Century City on Olympic. Customer rating: 7.5 Avg $169/night plus $20/night parking on booking.com.
Near Universal Studios there is an Extended Stay America next to the Burbank airport. Customer rating: 7.0. $154/night avg for your dates.
Do you want to stay near the beach? Hermosa In Holiday Inn Express is $175/night for your dates. Customer Rating: 8.6.

I am taking L.A. as a major city and not coastal city. Since I would be visiting coastal towns therefore will take those as to stay on the beach
though my budget is low but still I would like to be central or very close to the centre, though I would be renting a car, therefore Culver city may not be my choice
what do u suggest
Heard Vegas has better outlet malls than the Civatadel and Gilroy. How true is that ? But still outlet malls is NOT the only reason to visit Vegas but also the hustle and bustle of that city is an attraction but I must tell you that we live USA shopping of mid range brands and it is one of the purpose of this trip , so need to find few beer best Outket malls which are big, with lots of god stuff and Offcourse better than discounts
thanks

L.A.'s geographic center may not be the best location for you. You need make a sightseeing plan, find everything on a map and try to determine an area that would be central to your plan. Then I suggest you go to booking.com and filter your search by date and budget. The website will give you a map that shows the locations of the options that meet your criteria.
I would also pay some attention to the metro train routes. You might be able to eliminate a bit of driving if you plan to visit downtown L.A. and some museums in addition to Hollywood and Universal Studios.

There is no one perfect place to stay in Los Angeles. Downtown LA is not like staying in Manhattan. And, you were proposing to stay in Pasadena. Given your budget, Culver City is reasonably close to many things and far more so than Pasadena. Certainly for your return to LA, consider Culver City, Westchester or Marina del Rey for proximity to LAX.
For your first stay, for sure do as the prior poster recommended and figure out your list of what you want to see and map it on Google.
The other best options you've already gotten and didn't reply to. Christina's suggestion of Koreatown is a good one, especially if you do want to be by downtown. And PaulRabe's suggestion of studying betterbidding.com and getting a hotel through Priceline or Hotwire would make some hotels currently outside of your price range within reach. But it is really critical that you learn about the zones and the star system and ask questions before you make your first bids.

The list of things to do at LA are the usual touristy ones for example
LEG (1)
*Having a feel of the city
*Rodeo drive and window shipping at the shopping street
*Hollywood walk of Fame
*Famers market
*Santa monic beach and Pier and maybe Venice Beach
LEG (2)
On our way back
*Universal studios 1 day & maybe Disney
As almost all have suggested to RENT a car for both the part/leg of our LA trip.
Keeping in mind that we will have a car + as suggested that no place is central in LA, is it advisable to stay in
DIXIE HOTEL HOLLYWOOD OR KOREA TOWN OR CULVER CITY areas

thanks

You're not going to get a feeling for L.A. in the time you have, no matter where you stay. L.A. is enormous, a collection of neighborhoods that each have their own atmosphere. Some are based on ethnic and cultural groups which have historically settled there. East L.A., Pico-Robertson, Koreatown, Thai Town, Little Ethiopia, Filipinotown, Little Armenia, Olvera Street, Little Tokyo, Chinatown, etc. Even the several beach cities/towns have vastly different atmospheres.
A hotel in the mid-Wilshire or West Hollywood area would be fairly central to Rodeo Drive, Hollywood and Farmers Market. It would also be good for Universal Studios.
In Leg 2, there is no hotel location that would work well for both Universal Studios and Disneyland. You'd do better to extend your time in L.A. in Leg 1, and devote Leg 2 to just Disneyland.

Your call really, based on hotel. You can see on a map where each is relative to what you want to do. It seems to me obviously Hollywood or Korea Town are a more convenient location for that. None of these locations are exactly neighborhoody, all those hotels are on big major thoroughfares. I think the one in Koreatown may be sort of the closest to a neighborhood. I don't know, it's a tough call. I had friends near that Culver City location and used to work a bit west of the Hollywood one but went to some things in that area. There is a nice park there (Barnsdall) but that isn't really right near the Dixie, either. I worked west of the freeway, though so don't know that area well. That Dixie hotel is just on a major business street. I guess that's true of most hotels, but still. I also think the first two are very close to metro stops, just a couple blocks, and the one in Culver City isn't. Yes, there is a Culver City station but it's 2 miles away. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that.
But if you don't want to take metro, that doesn't matter, of course.
That hotel clark mentions (Park Plaza) would be a good locaiton if it is in your budget.

You can do Universal and Hollywood WOF the same day, Universal really only takes about 5-6 hours to see and Hollywood WOF and Chinese Theater maybe 1 hour, 2 max. Rodeo Drive also does not take long as it is only about 3-4 blocks long.
I'd stay a night or two in Anaheim to visit Disneyland and California Adventure so you can get there when they open and the lines are a lot less.

I was under the impression from other posters that the Dixie did not seem to get great reviews. I'd rather drive a little further than stay in a place that was really bad. If I misunderstood and you like that hotel, then go with it. ( In addition to reviews, also load the hotel address into Google Maps and pull up the photos of the streets nearby. )
Definitely, Koreatown is closer to Hollywood. Previously you hadn't seemed interested, which was why I brought up Culver City. You also could go to Universal Studios while staying there.
Two things are closer to Culver City that are on your list: Santa Monica/Venice Beach and your flight home from LAX.
I really think you should think a little more macro and if possible change your flight home to be from Orange County's Airport. (John Wayne I think it's called). This would allow you tostay in Anaheim two nights before you go home, go to Disneyland. Orange County is a smaller, friendlier airport.
If not possible, I definitely think you should stay in Culver City or Marina del Rey before you fly out. Go to Disneyland the day before. If you have a late flight, you could visit Santa Monica that day.
