Looking for alternative to Palm Springs for long weekend...

Planning on a 4 or 5 day break in Feb. with the wife and 3 yr old, from San Diego. We've been to Palm Springs 2 times and really enjoy relaxing at Rancho Las Palmas resort. We're looking for an alternative to PS this year, perhaps Phoenix or Santa Fe, (flying would be fine)?

We are looking for a resort & spa with a great pool, maybe pop jets & slide for the boy, and decent food nearby. And maybe a small zoo or something for a day or two away from the pool.

Thank you for any suggestions.

The Phoenician, The Arizona Biltmore, The Boulders, Four Seasons Resort, The Ranch on Camelback, and Enchantment Resort to start with. They are all in the Mesa, Phoenix, Scottsdale area. Also, Canyon Ranch.

I appreciate the suggestions, I looked at all of their websites, but they do not seem particularly family friendly, with the exception of Four Seasons, which is $525/ night, a bit steep for what I had in mind. We stay at Rancho Las Palmas for about $300.

Any other suggestions are appreciated, Thank you.

We also go to Rancho Las Palmas for 2-3 long weekends a year fro San Diego, with 2 boys 5 & 7. This year, to change it up a bit we went to The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale and the kids loved it. They have a lake stocked with fish and kids poles (no charge), great pools - including a really family friendly one that meanders from less than 1 ft deep to like 5 ft and 2 water slides, about the same length as the one at the RLP. There's also a great spa and gym on site and the staff was great with the kids. Outside of the resort, we went on a river float trip and horseback riding, as well as a really campy park called Rawhide with fake gunfights, panning for "gold", rides, etc that the boys loved. I'm pretty sure we got a AAA rate that was less than the quoted price, I've also seen the site pop up on expedia.com as an option. Let me know if you have any other questions, I check San Diego posts pretty often.

Topping, I'm interested in some other suggestions. Any family friendly resorts in Sedona? Thank you!
