Looking for a site for deals on last minute hotel rooms
Hi!
I am going to be in Las Vegas Saturday and Sunday night September 22-23. Does anyone know of a web site that offers discounts to last minute reservations (like hotels would rather get something instead of no money for an unbooked room). Thanks! The prices are so outrageuos for Saturday night

Laura, many Vegas hotels really discourage Saturday night arrivals. If it was me, I would probably stay at the San Remo, where your hotel tab for the two will come in under $200. Website:

Another possibility would be the Holiday Inn Boardwalk, which you can book through the Holiday Inn website in the same general price range. Neither of these are necessarily premier properties, but they're affordable, plenty okay and they have great locations for exploring the strip. If you want to do some looking on your own, you might want to try www.digitalcity.com. I noticed Harrah's has a decent rate listed. I'm not so sure that you wouldn't do better by simply calling a few of the places you're interested in directly to see what they have to say.

You can try Priceline or Hotwire, but keep in mind that thier "Strip Area" does NOT guarantee you a room on the strip, it may still be far away. I would continue to check the websites of the less expensive places: Flamingo, Casino Royale, Bally's, or Barbary Coast (this last one may be a winner for you, but there's no pool), Tropicana, or Excalibur.
You may also want to consider staying Downtown, as the rates there are MUCH cheaper than the strip.

Laura:
I just booked two nights (yesterday) at the Venetian for $124/night - same time period as you. I used Hotwire.com. Just listed the hotel as a 5-star on the Strip. Took my chances and am more than pleased. I also found Ceasar's Palace for $85 on Travelocity.com yesterday for 9/22-23. You might want to check out that website also.

Laura.....I received internet offers from the Venetian.....$59 week nights and $89 weekends.......These rates were available Sept.21st through 27th, and iclude a $35 Canyon Ranch Spa Club coupon.......min 2 night stay...
Many more dates were also available at these rates for dates in Oct, Nov and Dec....Because of the tragedy, business is way down and many hotels have slashed rates to a bare minimum.......
