Looking for a horse riding camp for my daughter, next year.

My daughter is crazy about horses, and we would like to take a trip to the USA next year, and enroll her in a horse riding camp for a week, perhaps in Montana, Kentucky?
We live in Belgium, but she speaks very good English. She will be 12 then. The rest of us will stay somewhere nearby as well, but we do not ride. I have no idea where to start looking. Any ideas?

Our daughter went to one in Kentucky which was excellent. It was a good while ago so not sure about it still being there. I will try to look.

Is she an experienced rider or new to the hobby? (This will make a difference of what type of facility you look for.)
Does she have an interest in jumping or dressage or western-style riding?
If she is a new rider, and you are all coming, I'd suggest going somewhere there will be lots of other things for the rest of you to do while she is at camp.
I good idea might be to look for something in the Western part of the U.S. where you could go to a National Park such as Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon or Yosemite.
Here is a place in Oregon that looks nice: http://www.horse-camp.com/
Colorado is a beautiful state with lots of riding.
Here's one in California associated with UC Davis (a well-known for its equine program college):

Good luck!

Have you considered New England? There are many small riding camps, particularly for English style riding. GMHA (Green Mountain Horse Assn) in central Vermont is one of the finest. Our daughter went there several years ago. It is in a beautiful spot, and Northern New England is heavenly in the summer.

One of the most respected girls horse camps is Camp Waldemar in Hunt, Texas. The equestrian director, Connie Reeves, is an inductee in the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame! It is western and english riding, and the setting is in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. There would be plenty for the rest of the family to do while she is at the camp!

Thank you so much for your replies. I will check them all out. My daughter has been riding for a few years, and is quite accomplished. We just love traveling in the USA, so want to spend 3 or 4 weeks there next summer.

I have worked with a trainer in Colorado that is excellent and teaches the art of natural horsemanship (conscientious riding). I subscribe to Dressage style of riding and got a lot out of the work I did there (see website link below). Mark teaches western saddle and his partner teaches English. They have week long seminars/camps for all ages in the summer and Colorado is a great place to visit as well. Let me know if you would like more information.
