Looking for a grave in Plattekill, NY

My husband and I are taking a road trip which has us driving Route 87 through Plattekill, NY.

His 5th GreatGrandMother is buried in Birdsall Ground Cemetery, on the Plattekill-Ardonia Road. The cemetery is unnamed ground in the orchard on the farm of Mr. Birdsall, 1/2 mile north of Plattekill Valley (from a 1931 survey). The Plattekill-Ardonia Road is pretty long, and there is no road number for the cemetery.

Is there anyone familiar with the area that can tell me where to start looking for the Birdsall Farm? Your help is much appreciated.

Call the county office? Or the town hall?

First, I googled Birdsall Ground Cemetry and found this photo:

Then, using Satellite/Street View in google maps, I traveled north along Plattekill-Ardonia Road. The cemetery in the photo is on the west side of the road just north of New Unionville Road (which is on the east side of the road).

Thank you for your responses. They were much appreciated.

ellenem - I ended up doing the same thing! findagrave.com has a picture of Grandma's grave. Only it took me two trips on Plattekill-Ardonia Road before finding the cemetery! Just a few stones on the side of the road.

tomfuller - I will be sure to check out the genealogy page. It looks like it has a lot of good information.

We're heading out tomorrow on our road trip, so I will post on my return with hopefully a successful story about hanging with our dead relatives.

Have a great weekend, all...
