Long weekend between NYC and DC

We're looking for a nice vacation spot to meet friends for the weekend between NYC and DC. (We're new to NYC, so we don't know much about vacationing closeby.) If it happens to be a lesbian-friendly spot, all the better. We're going in June. No kids. Thanks for your help.

Well, halfway between NY and DC is the Brandywine Valley area (Delaware/PA).
But what kind of getaway are you thinking of? City (Philly)? Shore? (Jersey , Maryland or Delaware)? Country B&Bs? Craftsy towns? Price range you're looking for? So many choices...

Price range in the area of $150 per night or less. Open to any of the above type of getaways. I'll check out the Brandywine Valley as a start. Thanks for the suggestion!

I love the Brandywine area as there are plenty of winding roads, historic and artistic sites, great restaurants. For June it may be a little tough at that price, but there are many types of inns, hotels, etc, so good luck.

Another vote for Brandywine and Longwood Gardens. New Hope, PA is another option or Ocean City, NJ.

Annapolis is a good bit closer to DC, but you might want to look into that as well.
