My hungarian friend is getting married and they plan to come to this island for a week or so in mid. october.I`m trying to help her find affordable hotels or BB for that time, something solid and not too expensive. Thanks for helping.

I'm also going to Hawaii to attend a wedding - it will be a quick trip, though - only 4 days! I would suggest checking out the Outrigger hotels (www.outrigger.com) - they have many affordable properties in good locations. Their site has rate info and descriptions. I think I'm going to select the Outrigger Edgewater - $80 pr night.

Colleen - you should be able to get something at the Outrigger Edgewater cheaper. We are staying there in Oct, and using the Entertainment book (any city), got a no-smoking room for $45.00. In the past, not using the book, we've had decent rooms there for less than the $80.00 you mention. I agree with recommending Outriggers - many locations/prices to choose from. We select one of the cheaper ones since we're not in the room that much, and with the Outriggers, you can use the other pools. (Edgewater does have a pool but..) So we use the pool at the Reef across the street. By the way, I found out about using the Entertainment book for Outrigger discounts from another poster on this board awhile ago! So thanks, to who ever it was.

Agnes, The Entertainment book is a small, thick paperback book that comes out every year for various cities all over, filled with coupons for discounts on restaurants, hotels, travel, movies etc. Their website is www.entertainment-gold.com
