Lodging Near Acadia Park

My family and I have stayed in Estes Park, Colorado which is right outside the Rocky Mountain National Park. Does anyone know if there are any little towns similar to Estes Park outside Acadia National Park in Maine? ALSO, Estes Park has a great web site that lets you choose the type of lodging you are interested in and types of amenities and then it does the search for you.....do any of the locations near Acadia have this feature??
Thank You!!

Acadia is on an island (Mount Desert) attached to the mainland by a causeway, so anywhere on the island is good, depending on your needs/wants.

Bar Harbor has the most lodging available, but there are also smaller places, such as Southwest Harbor, etc. Perhaps somebody else knows of a site such as you're looking for for lodging.

Have a good trip!

We stayed in Bar Harbor and loved the town. It has a homey feel to it. The place we stayed at was too pricey for what we got so check out other Fodor posts for a lodging recommendation. By the way, we absolutely loved Acadia National Park.

If you liked Estes Park, you'll love Bar Harbor. Although I am not acquainted with a search engine for lodgings with specific catagories near ANP, be sure to check out the Hotels tab at the top of this webpage. There are quite a few listings with ratings for most. Should you want to get farther away from the maddening crowds, you might want to locate in Bass Harbor or another small town on the western side of the island.

While there's no search feature based on amenities, I found the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce website to be a helpful place to start looking at various accomodations.

The website is :

www.barharborinfo.com

Click on lodging, and then there are broad catgories for B&B, Hotel/Motel, Camping, etc. you can click on.

They provide brief descriptions of each place and a link to the hotel's website.

Northeast Harbor is close to one of the entrances to Acadia. It's a very nice small town. Last fall we stayed at the Grey Rock Inn which overlooks the harbor and it was a delightful place. You can probably find some info on it on Google.
