Lodging ??? LV/GC/Page/Zion.

We are beginning to book our 2006 trip to Las Vegas (2nghts Friday at each end), Grand Canyon Southrim (2nghts@Thunderbird Lodge), Page/Lake Powell (2 nghts) and Zion (2nghts @Desert Pearl Inn).

I'm thinking that our stay in LV will be at Bally's or the Flamingo since they will be Friday nights and I don't want to break the bank. Any experience at either?

Then for Page/Lake Powell, I'm at a loss. I've read the picks and they all sound the same. Basic run of the mill motel types, which is not a problem with us. However would like to have some current recommendations.

Thanks for the helps guys. You've all been great.

Since we camp, I don't know what the lodgings are like but for location, location, location, I'd pick the Lake Powell Resort (use to be the Wahweap Lodge) so you are right next to Lake Powell.

Thanks Utah. I knew that you couldn't really give me advise on this one because you camp. So I was hoping someone else would share.

Our thoughts were the same as yours about the Lake Powell Resort & Marina location.

Anyone with first hand lodging knowledge?

PS. went to your sight Utah to see your great pictures. What a treat. Your grandson is soooo cute.

Thank you. One of the reasons I responded was to bump the thread back up to the top.

Karen,
We’ll go in September and we’ll stay for 1 night at the Lake Powell Resort. I will have a trip report when we get back.

We were unable to book a single weekend night - a Friday - at Flamingo on their website. However, when we went to Expedia or Travelocity, we were able to book one night. So if you have trouble with one night, try that.

We'll be at Sky Ranch Lodge (Sedona) 2 nights, Thunderbird (GC) 1 night, Lake Powell Resort 2 nights, Ruby's (Bryce) 1 night, Desert Pearl (Zion) 1 night, Bally's 2 nights. I'll report back after August 6 when we return.

Thanks guys. I will be looking forward to the trip reports.

I think we will book the Lake Powell Resort & Marina also, just for the location. It's only 2 nights.

We are looking at both Ballys and the Flamingo in LV.

Thanks again.
