Lodging in Vail

We stayed there mainly because it is actually owned by a friend of the family. To be perfectly honest, we found it horribly disappointing. The room seemed so cramped and stuffy. The ceilings are very low, less that 8 feet I'm sure and the rooms are filled with little cutesy touches -- if you like quaint b&b;s with lots of knitted toilet paper covers, etc., you might find it cute. It was not particularly cheap regularly, but they offer lots of specials. After staying there I know why they advertise so heavily -- a full page in AAA I think and various senior travel magazines. Is it decent? yes! And if you have a great rate, then why not? But I'd drop the "fabulous" from their name.

Hi Rochelle. another option is http://www.parkmeadowslodge.com/
not as central as Best Western which has a good location but we liked it. Had a small, very small, kitchen area that was nice to have. You can walk to the Cascade and use the lift there but you will have to take the shuttle to the village.
We just used the cascade resorts, gave the driver a tip and all as ok.
