Never stayed at this one, but generally HI Hostels are very good for solo travelers. http://www.norcalhostels.org/reyes/
I'll be staying at the Sacramento HI Hostel later this week.I also like the one at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse about 50 miles south of SF. Looks like Rt. 1 will be open all the way as of Friday afternoon.

Since I live in SF I rarely stay overnight when I go to Point Reyes, but we did stay at the Olema Inn once and one time at Point Reyes Station Inn. As I recall both were lovely--that may be damning with faint praise--but it has been awhile.

The towns of Olema, Point Reyes Station, Inverness are closest to the main entry point (i.e. Visitors Center) for Point Reyes; a little further north are Marshall and Dillion Beach , which are on Tomales Bay that runs along the eastern edge of Point Reyes.

Nick's Cove is expensive. But that might mean better availability!
This can be tough on short notice, especially ont the weekend, but just try a lot of places, you never know.
I like One Mesa bed and breakfast. 415 - 663 - 8866 Toll Free 866 -663 - 8866 It's right in Point Reyes Station.
Also very nice is Lone Fir Cottage, 415-663-1380. Great value, often booked.
Also very nice is the Marsh Cottage; owned by an artist, you get to spend time with some great art! (415) 669-7168
The Tomales Bay Resort, which used to be the Golden Hinde, is a very nice motel right on the water in Inverness. The Bayside rooms are great. Many of the other rooms are nice, but even the less great rooms are cool, since it's such a great location. They have a restaurant, and the Blue Waters kayaking rental place is right next door, which is a nice bonus.
Also try the Abalone Inn in Inverness; haven't stayed there but it looks nice.

Have fun! My favorite place!

My sister and I stayed at the Point Reyes Seashore Lodge a few years ago and it was lovely. No TVs, though, if this makes a difference to you.
