Lodge at Torrey Pines, La Jolla

Hello fellow travelers:
We are thinking of staying at the Torrey Pines lodge and wondered if anyone had any comments or has stayed there recently. we would appreciate any positive or negative comments.
Thanks!!

have not stayed there but am a local and know that it recently went through a fantabulous redo. from the local writeups and video coverage i'm convinced the lodge will be my first choice for a quick getaway.

haven't stayed there but i'm sure it is a good place. the only thing (and not a downside really) is that you will have to drive if you want to go to any restaurants other then what's in the hotel.

Sorry to do two posts in a a row. Here's my question: Does anyone know if it's worth it to upgrade to the Palisade Room? How is the view from that room versus the Signature Room. Are the rooms that much different? Thanks in advance for any insight.
