Lion King Tickets. for July
What is the Best way to get 3 Tickets for the Lion King the week of the July 25-27, 2000. I understand that they get some tickets back at the box office. How about a Cheap ticket broker (if there is such a thing). What other shows are good for a kid age 11 who will be traveling with me. He has seen Beauty and the Beast. Please email ticket suggestions to [email protected]

The best way at this date is probably to pray! (And that answer probably isn't as sarcastic as it sounds!)
You could try standing at the box officde for a few hours the day of the performance and wait for possible cancellations! I would seriously doubt that you could find anything with a "cheap broker" at this late date.
For you son, try "The Music Man" or "Annie Get Your Gun." ALso off-Broadway's "Blue Man Group" or "Stomp."

I was successful last summer at getting same-day tickets from the cancellation line at the box office. I got there before 9 am for a Wednesday matinee, but I would recommend getting there earlier to be on the safe side. About 20 or so people in line got tickets (I think there was a limit of 4 per person but some people were just buying one or two). It was wonderful and I highly recommend it.

There are no cheap tickets for Lion King, the half price tickets that you can get through "TKTS" are for shows that are not sold out and this gives the show the ability to fill more seats. Lion King is pretty much sold out EVERY night. We have been trying to get tickets for a while with no success.
The suggestion of going to the box office is a good one, but you will have to wait in line for a while.
If you go downtown to TKTS at the World Trade Center in the morning (10amish)
there will be lots of shows you can get half price tickets for, the above mentioned are really good suggestions and I think I saw all of them listed on the board last week. (We use TKTS for tickets all the time)
Oh and we saw "Aida" on Saturday night and it was wonderful, (paid 115 for each ticket), but the show is great, good music, acting and well acted.
Hope this helps some, have a great time while you are here.
