Le Cirque, Las Vegas...Is it worth it?

My husband and I are planning his birthday trip to Las Vegas. We are thinking of having his birthday dinner at Bellagio's Le Cirque restaurant. I'm wondering if anyone out there has tried it? Would appreciate your review. Thanks.

Though I have dined at Le Cirque in New York, I haven't tried its Las Vegas counterpart. However, when I stayed at the Bellagio in December I noted that its menu was very expensive and have my doubts that it can live up to expectations. I was very pleased with the tasting menu at Aqua (also at the Bellagio) and can heartily recommend its cuisine, although the dining room itself lacks the festive air I think you may be looking for to celebrate your husband's birthday. The restaurant "Picasso" at the Bellagio is arguably its premier restaurant, with a beautiful decor (the Paintings, of course) and its renowned chef IN ATTENDANCE...its not a Las Vegas branch, but the genuine article. The April issue of Wine Spectator rated it amoung the top 10 or restaurants in the country. Give it some thought.

Can't comment on Le Cirque, since we didn't eat there but ate at it's sibling Circo. I thought it was just OK. The best part of it was the view of the fountains if you are sitting by a window. I enjoyed Le Rotisserie des Artistes which is in Paris. I thought the food and service were excellent.

I ate at La Cirque in June. The food was good, but I would not consider it world class. Also, it is definitely expensive and in my mind, overpriced. Picasso's (also in the Bellagio), while equally expensive, is superb and worth every penny. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is also breathtakingly beautiful.

Shannon: why did you think Picasso was 'worth every penny'? What did you like in particular?

PICASSO, PICASSO, PICASSO!!!!!

Worth every penny and than some. The appearance of the resturant is stunning and beautiful. The service is the best I personally have ever recieved anywhere. Polite, friendly, courtious, and very very professional. The food, is out of this world, fresh, tastful, and beautifully prepared. The menu comprises at least 5 courses and is stread out over a period of time that you can enjoy the food, have a drink, a conversation and wait for the next course. Yes, it is rather expensive but I would return in a heart beat.
