Laundromat and breakfast in Cortez, CO

We'll be leaving Mesa Verde for Canyonlands and want to do laundry and have breakfast in Cortez (multi-tasking to save a little time). Can anyone recommend a place to eat that might be near a laundromat or just a breakfast place and where I can find a laundromat? Thanks!

There is a fairly nice, clean laundramat on Main Street. As you come into Cortez from Mesa Verde, it will be on your left [south side] just past Walgreen. There is a Radio Shack in the same little shopping center.Plasa Laundry 1419 E Main 970-8467

There is the Dolores Restaurant right across the street and I believe serves breakfast 7 days a week, but not sure. Very tiny, mexican influence. 1430 E. Main
970-565-9411

There is a Denny's Diner before you get to laundromat, just past Holiday Inn Express. There's a McDonald across from the laundromat too.

Further down Main is a cute, small family owned place called Pippo's Diner which has really good, reasonably priced breakfast and seniors over 55 get specials 100 W. Main St 970--565-6039.

Depending on when you are here, there is a Farmer's Market on Saturday [in season]morning with great local foodstuff. In parking lot of Montezuma County Bldg.

Hope this helps...

Thanks, Debi, it's a big help. No use driving around looking for a laundromat when you can get specific info from this great forum.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else. As you can probably tell, I live in the area.

You have been wonderfully helpful already and I will probably come up with some additional questions before we leave in about 2 weeks--wow, so close. Either the Dolores or Pippo's sounds good for breakfast. Always rather go local if I can get a recommendation and we can always eat in a mickey d's or denny's. But we won't be there for the farmer's market as we'll be passing through on Tuesday.

I just drove my the Dolores Restaurant [the one in Cortez] and they appear to be closed for renovations. They have been closed for a few weeks and I thought they had reopened, guess not. Go to Pippo's; you won't be dissappoined [we just had lunch there the other day and it was very good].

Oh, one more thing -- it's Plaza Laundry with a Z not S as in my first reply [typos!]
