Laughlin Nevada Hotels

Has anyone ever stayed a night or two in Laughlin? I have been there a few times for just the day on a bus trip, but never over-night. The reason I'm asking is that in route to Vegas from the Grand Canyon we have a couple extra nights and we were thinking of stopping in Laughlin, being as it's not really out of the way. It will be the 4th of July weekend! We don't really want to arrive in Vegas over the 4th of July, being as it will probably be packed and we will be there the whole week after July6-13.
So any comments on Laughlin Hotels would be greatly appreciated!

Stayed at Harrah's in Laughlin a couple of years back and it was a nice. Rates are often VERY reasonable in Laughlin.

I stayed at the Edgewater hotel a number of years ago. It was clean and comfortable.

Edgewater is good, but I always like staying right at Don Laughlin's resort, The Riverside. It's a fun place that has the bragging rights to being part of that town's namesake. The history is Laughlin is very interesting y and you would get that insight by staying there. Perhaps you'll even see Don there himself as he does walk the floors of the casino. If you've never been to Laughlin, I'd stay first at the Riverside. There are several 'additions' to the original building, and I guess I like staying in the newer towers. But other areas of the hotel are great to stay in too. Note - rooms are nothing extraordinary - but clean and comfy just the same. However the casino gets a big thumbs up, but not the restaurants. It is a VERY walkable city along the Colorado River. Have fun and good luck!!!

Happy Trails,
Paul

Thanks for all the replies! This thread was supposed to be on the Nevada forum but somehow it ended up on the US general forum. I didn't think I would get an responses! Anyways, Harrahs is sold out for 4th of July weekend, but the Edgewater and Don Laughlins Riverside still has openings. I'll have to decide quick before they run out of vacancies. I think Paul has got me leaning toward Don L's Place.
Thanks Again!!!

I visited Laughlin last June. Stayed at the Flamingo Hilton. Nice clean room for $29 night.

Just my opinion ... other than casinos and a ride on the Colorado River, there's not much to do there. I was on a trip to Phoenix, wanted to drive through mountains and wound up in Laughlin.
