Las Vegas Wedding Reception

We're planning a November wedding at the Bellagio. That is fairly set - but we're having a problem with a short reception. We're having a very small wedding party (about 20 people), and we wanted to have it someplace nice - but not stuffy. The Bellagio really doesn't have anything for less than 35 people, so we're looking for something close by. One thought is The Palm in the Forum shops, another thought is the italian restaurant at the Rio (if that is available) - and another suggestion was Smith & Wollenskys. Any thoughts on any of the above? Since the wedding is a late afternoon wedding - we're thinking about a dinner type of event for a few hours. Any help would be appreciated...

Debi:

Have you considered the Palm Lounge at the Four Seasons -- very classy, great staff!

Let's try this again...
Debi, The VooDoo Lounge at the Rio is a great place to go for an after wedding affair. The food, staff and view are a spectacular!! Nice place to take pictures afterward also. Get there when the sun starts to go down and enjoy!! Good luck and HAPPY WEDDING!!

I just wanted to give an update. We looked into the suggestions (thank you!) and some of the options we had - and the easiest to deal with (which is important!!) and the one with availability was The Palm. They have been very easy to work with. I have one other question - on the night before the wedding, we wanted to be able to get together as a group - casually - and I can't think of a good place to do that. I'd love to do the Voodoo lounge - I've eaten dinner there, it's great - but I didn't know if they had a separate bar area where a group of 25 could gather. I don't remember seeing that. We wanted something that would be fun - but not too formal or expensive since we've got the dinner the next night. In Las Vegas, can you "make reservations" in one of the nice bars in the casinos??

Hi. My husband and I got engaged at the Rio, and 2 years ago we wanted to have a wedding at the Rio as well, with the idea of having a reception at the Voodoo lounge, as we love that place. However, at that time ('98) we were informed that the Voodoo didn't take reservations for a party of more than 10 or 12. However, I'm not sure about a cocktail gathering. They DO have a separate bar/lounge area from the restaurant part which is upstairs and set apart from the rest of the restaurant. It also has a balcony area I think that overlooks all of Las Vegas.
Good luck. Happy wedding!!!

Have passed this extensive website (part of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas) to others.
There's a lot of info; perhaps you might find something just right there.

Best Wish and congratulations!

Thanks alot!!! I had to nix the Voodoo lounge because I forgot we have 3 children attending. I did check the website BJ gave me - what a great website! In fact, I'm thinking of the Harley Davidson Cafe. It's kind of fun, centrally located - and they do small parties. I'm going to check on prices/availability. Thanks again!!

Married myself in Vegas 3 years ago I wcan offer a few suggestions. Fiore at the Rio would be an excellent place. Also have you checked out Mandalay Bay--we were there in June and it is beautiful---they have several restaurants out by their pool area---very well landscaped and very private (despite the proximity to the pool). Also at some point you might want to go to the restarant in the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel---beautiful views---esp. of the water show at the Bellagio--maybe they could accomodate your plans. Good Luck and have fun!

This is close...about 5 years ago I had a private party for about 20 people and I had it in the Steak House in Bally's. They had a small room we used, I ordered appetizers for the table and everyone ordered their dinner from the menu. It was very nice, and the food was excellent.
