Hmmm... I haven't been there. The entrance to Red Rock is about 10 mins. from my house, so we'll drive through there about once a month because it's such a great drive. It only takes us about an hour to go round trip, but we're much more West than the strip. We haven't branched out into longer day trips yet. You might want to start a thread on the Valley of the Sun. I'm sure there's people who have done it!

Heavens, thanks for the last update on your perspective. I found it insightful.
If your husband wants to go back to LV and you still have a bad taste in your mouth from the recent visit, the suggestions are excellent that you might consider visiting some of the non-casino attractions like Red Rock, Lake Mead, Valley of Fire etc.
I know the first few times I went to LV I was very impressed at how tired I felt after 2-3 days. Not just physical fatigue, but the sensory overload from all the constant lights and sounds just frazzles the nerves. (I always go with a group of people, most of whom gamble for long hours).
I have found that I enjoy my visits a lot more if I get outside and do things like run every day (weather is usually great at some part of every day), or take a day trip to one of the parks, etc. Just getting away from the Strip really helps rejuvenate me.

Makes more sense now. We haven't been there yet, but there was a great thread a few weeks back about it. Have you tried searching for it?
