Going to Las Vegas for business on super bowl weekend. Looking for the best place/casino to watch the game and have fun. Heard that the NFL has put some restrictions on the casinos, so I need help in finding a place to chill.

Most of the major hotels have big events. What type of restrictions have you heard about? I can't imagine the NFL having any kind of say in Vegas

The NFL is saying that they own the rights to the superbowl and that they show the game for free. The don't like the idea that the casinos charge a fee for something they don't

They're just not getting their cut is the problem.

I'd imagine that the big sports books are sold out of seats.

All of the hotels have parties but I think for the most part, they are for invited guests. All of the sportsbooks will show the game and they will be very crowded. I don't know of any of the casino or non-casino bars that have parties in the sense of you buying a ticket and getting food and drink but it is possible that there are some out there.

If you just want to hang out in by a sports book and watch the game, Caesar's Palace has one of the best.

Great sports book with adjacent bar and California Pizza Kitchen at the Mirage. If you are just looking to plant for the game with a good billgoard size TV, this is an option. MGM has an enormous sports book, but no nearby bar/lounge restaurant to set up camp. Wynn has an excellent bar by the sports book, but limited seating.

Does staying at a hotel make you an invited guest?

No it doesn't. There is just not enough room in the sports book for everyone in the hotel. People go to ridiculous lengths to get seats. I chatted with one guy who does it annually and I think that he said that he and his buddies occupy seats well ahead of the Big Game (maybe a day in advance?) and hold the seats the whole day). The sports books have rules for what it means to hold seats and kick people out when they violate them.

It's not like a lounge chair at a pool where people drop their towels at 7AM and expect to have a seat when they come down after lunch.
