www.cheapovegas.com has lots of suggestions for free and cheap things to do in Vegas,
There are two half-price ticket booths on the Strip. One is in the Coke bottle, and the other is near the Harley Cafe. They open after noon and sell tickets for that night's shows. They won't have the Cirque shows, or Celine/Elton, but they do have a wide selection.

The 24 hr. cafe's in Paris, Hard Rock, Orleans, Stratusohere and the Golden Nugget downtown all have good quality and affordable eats. I'm sure there are others although those are the ones I'm personally familiar with. Also if you are downtown, the Main Street Station's brew pub has affordable eats, in large portions (share!).

I second main street station. I had one of there buffet dinners. It is o.k. for the price, different specials on different nights. There is also some o.k eateries downtown. Tony Romas steak and lobster for $10.99. There is also the light show downtown and some $1.00 margaritas. If you are on a budget venture downtown.

Forget the Burger Bar in the Mandalay Bay, just a short ride up Tropicana is an In N'Out Burger which is great! Second the Ellis Island coffee shop. A dive for sure, but good solid food at reasonable prices. Finally check into the many midnight specials that restuarants offer in the casinos. We had a good meal in the Orleans after a dice session for only $3.oo. Enjoy...
