Denise - be prepared for the onslaught of posts that criticize you for taking your family to the "Sin Capital of the World".
Now that you are prepared... My kids loved Excalibur and had a great time at the Knights Tournament Dinner Show. There are also several areas that are set up for families including a large games and video carnival, restaurants that cater to Pizza, Italian and Buffet.
In addition there are massive malls in Caesars Palace, Food courts galore and hundreds of Family attractions. My Kids loved IMAX 3-d and the motion simulators at Luxor.
For food, there is a Motown cafe and great food court at NYNY. Food court at MGM and decent buffets at Rio, Bellagio, and many others...
My family spent four, non-stop fun filled days without any gambling, and had no problems except for the grumpy, old, polyester suited Vegas veterans who think they own the town!

I'm taking my family for 3 days in March (kids 10 & 13). Here some website with useful info of free attractions. www.lasvegasfunbook.com and www.bigempire.com/vegas/freetosee.html.
After some research, we chose to stay at the Mirage. We also got tickets to Mystere (overall consensus was that it's better for kids than O). We don't plan on going to any other shows that we have to pay for. We'll check out the freebies and hopefully get to use the pool.
