I'm going to Las Vegas over the summer with a group of people, but not all of us are 21. What is there to do in Vegas for people under 21? also, how strict are they in iding people? is there any way for the people who are not yet 21 to be admitted into the same places as the rest of us?

Not much to do....the pool and/or shows that do not have an age requirement.....walk the strip, go to the M&M store....I really think it is not going to be a great trip for those who are not of age.

Only if they have some kind of ID that indicates that they *are* 21. As groups of young people tend to be exuberant, they are quite readily "carded".

They tend to card everyone...Unless this is set in stone, you underaged folks may want to rethink this particular trip.

I live in LV and travel with the family on occasion to the strip for dinner and a show and such. Any time you are in a casino and not walking there will be someone thisclose to card you and then tell you to keep walking and that you can't look at a slot machine.

As others mentioned, the best things to do are enjoy the pools and go to the attractions, walk around outside (may be hard to do if it's 115 out).

There is zero chance anyone under 21 will be let in a nightclub but you can eat anywhere you want to spend the $$. Hope this helps. The ones that aren't 21 will definitely be left out on the action, something to think about it.

Going there when you are 21 and old enough for all of you to humilate yourselves with drink or go crazy is best spent when the time comes legally imo. Hope this helps.

Carding in LV is VERY strict. No casinos, no clubs - unless you have really good fake IDs. (They won;t take the obvious or even not so obvious fakes - since they have way too much at risk.)

I would pick another destination until you're all 21.

Seriously, LV has abandoned its "family destination" tourism kick in favor of an adults playground theme. Unless you're famous, I think there's a very good chance that the under-21's will have a fairly lame vacation, as they won't be allowed in the same places.

I actually saw a Jet employee with a book of state licenses checking to see if someone's ID was valid. Casinos get huge fines if they are caught letting someone gamble or drink. I think the penalty by the gaming comission is $5000 and up from there. My cousin was a floor person at a strip casino and the carding thing was one of the reasons she stopped working there even with good pay, she was spit on and people would throw their licenses on the ground at her when she asked. It's something they have to do, not what they want to do Secuity will quickly come to get someone if they act unruly about the carding thing.

I witnessed a rather ugly scene once. A group of 5 or 6 who looked to me to be in their late 20's or even early 30's was being carded before going into a nightclub. The one woman said her purse had been stolen and she had no ID --honestly she had to be way over 21. But there was no way they were letting her in. The whole group was getting almost violent with the host, a bouncer was called, and as we moved on, I think they were calling the police. The woman without an ID was hysterical by that point.

There's no way your group should go if you aren't all 21 and can prove it LEGALLY.

My husband and I do not normally gamble or go to the clubs and we have fun but we don't go in the summer when it is 100 degrees so being outside is fun.

The tough thing is walking through the casino on the way to a show, dinner or attraction and being able to walk past the slots when you knwo you are not of age to play.

I was in Vegas when I was 19 and gambled but things have changed over the years.

There is no way you can smuggle in anybody under 21 in any place that requires ID. But there is plenty to do without gambling, and you can open a bottle in your hotel room.

Do a search for activities and tours. You may want to rent a car for a day or 2 to go to Red Rock, Valley of Fire. There are shows and exhibits, museums and 3-D movies.

Seriously, there isn't much to do if you are under 21 in Vegas. About all there is the pool and shopping. Is there anyway you can all re-think this trip until you are all 21?

As everyone says - they are very strict about IDs. Where are you staying - and who is renting the rooms? That could also be a bit of a problem. Under age groups probably wouldn't fly at most places.

In fact, if you were ALL under 21 - it would be easier since there are the the things kids can do in any city plus some sightseeing. Of course, if you were all over 21 it would be better still. But I don't see a mixed-age group working at all.

Vegas is VERY strict with the ID checks. I am also 30 and get checked routinely at casinos, bars, and clubs while never getting asked at home. I have never been to any city that took the law as seriously as Vegas, and they have good reason to be that serious.

I have also known a few who thought they had a great "fake" because it worked at home. They got into a world of trouble in Vegas.

Aside from the pool and eating, there really isn't much that will excite you. I would strongly, strongly recommend another destination. I mean, when I was under 21 we just went to Canada or Mexico, but maybe that trend has passed.

I think they don't come back because you aren't telling them what they want to hear...like how to work the fake ID, how to "sweet talk" the casino security etc.

I think sometimes new posters may log off and forget how to get back on (or even forget how to find the site)

I just wanted to mention that I go to Vegas at least once a year, because it is so much fun. I don't gamble at all and don't drink.
(I run from museum to show to fine restaurant to show to show; go to bed, get up and go to the spa and then to show etc.) If you wanted stuff to do i can give you a list.
Peoples brains undergo redevelopment from about 15 to 25. In addition to more obvious dangers,drugs and alcohol during these years increase risk of developing schizophrenia. And although teenagers feel they have good judgement, their judgement may be seriously impaired, as they are not yet playing with a full deck. They also have little experience with and a poor understanding of money. So while you are in this age range, try not to do anything that will ruin your life. While legal, 21 or 22 may still be too young to understand implications of drinking and gambling. Go someplace else, and wait until you are 25, to enjoy Vegas.
