I'll always vouch for Monte. Stayed there in March. It's a good location, decent casino and pool, rooms are nice and clean, helpful staff and their price point always seems to beat their neighbors. I'm not a buffet guy so I like the 'food court' with something to grab at all times of the day and the microbrewery is excellent. Good food and beer (get the 4' tall beer dispenser for your table) and tv's everywhere for watching your favorite game. The only negative is a weak sportsbook so that's when we head to the microbrewery to watch games (ncaa basketball tournament).

The Monte Carlo is fun. The crowd is young and hip. I noticed that the quality of the rooms has gone down slightly, but nothing to worry about. It's affordable and in a good location.

I stayed there in Oct. and really enjoyed it. It was so nice to be able to get away from all of the noise once in awhile. You do not have to go into the casino to get to your room. That is a big plus sometimes. I stayed at the Luxor last month and did not like having to meander around all of the bling-bling, blip-blip, ding-ding-ding just to get to my room. Don't get me wrong, I stay out late, avg. 3 hrs of sleep per night when I'm there, try as many new bars and hotspots that I can, and keep going until I can't go anymore. I'm no fogie but having had the situation of Monte Carlo and then the Luxor give me MC ANYtime. They were especially nice to us there. The Luxor was not bad at all. It just seemed like we got more personal service at MC.

Monte Carlo is a good hotel for the price. Not having to go through the casino to get to your room is a plus. If you call the hotel instead of the 1-800# you usually can get a better rate. Sometimes they will upgrade you for free just for asking.

Good choice. The fact that there are no tigers, fountains, pirates, etc. to bring in the hordes makes it a quieter place.

We stayed at the Monte Carlo last summer. My 10 year old daughter loved the pool area. There is a lazy river, with tubes for rent. Also there is a pool set up to look like a beach and the "waves" turn on every so often. We got a coupon book with the room which had a coupon for free use of the spa. There were several moderately priced restaurants in the food court to eat breakfast and lunch. We would definitely go back.

I stayed there this week and second it's a nice hotel for the price, and good location. Rooms are fine, though nothing special. They're planning to re-do soon, though not sure when. Pool area was nice, spa ok. Ask for a room with a view of strip.

I have not stayed at that hotel so I can't comment on the quality of the rooms but it seemed like a nice hotel at a very affordable price. The shuttle to the Bellagio was great and since we stayed at the Bellagio we used the shuttle a lot. I personally like to have a room with a very comfy bed since I like to slumber late into the day and I am not going to just get by with three hours of sleep a night so I would check on quality of the bed.

Oh! I didn't know that the monorail was shut down. What a pain!
