Lake Tahoe inexpensive hotels
I am looking for a Lake Tahoe hotel in September (on a weekend) for my husband and my 3 month old child. We will be attending a wedding there. I am looking for something cheap (under $100), though I am pretty picky and it must be clean and relatively nice. I would prefer it to be near the casinos as the wedding is on the golf course which i believe is near the casinos.
I found two Day's Inn's which are both under $100. Have any of you stayed at either of these? What did you think? If not do you have any other recommendations? Is it even possible to stay in a decent place in Lake Tahoe on a weekend for under $100?
Thank you so much!

Check on www.tripadvisor.com, and put in South Lake Tahoe.

Yes, Edgewood is the course they just played the televised pro-am w/ all the celebrities/sports figures.
In Sept the room rates go down quite a bit all around the lake but they can still be high on weekends.
You might have luck w/ Priceline. Check out biddingfortravel.com for bidding history and lists of hotels PL uses. All of the hotels listed in South Lake Tahoe (Under Nevada even though many of them are actually in CA) are convenient to Edgewood.

If the wedding is at Edgewood Golf Course, then one of the closest hotels would be Horizon. I believe the rates start at $79 a night, depending on what tower you request. It's a family friendly place.

Even Horizon's, which is usually the cheapest of the 4 casinos there, must be over $200 on weekends in season, I wouldn't even try.
For under $100 on weekends it must be a motel on California side, so "relatively nice" is out of question.

FainaAgain just about hit it on the head. After the summer rush ends, week days are dirt cheap but weekends simply aren't. Tahoe is an easy get-away for a regoin of about 10 million people in northern California so there really aren't many weekend bargains.
Your best bets are priceline (no guarantees but worth a shot) or a more down market motel. The Days Inn's are - well, Days Inn's so you know what you are getting. If you are OK w/ that and youu can get a cheap rate, go for it.

My daughter got married several years ago at Edgewood and most of the guests stayed at the Best Western nearby. The rate included a full breakfast off their restaurant menu. At that time it was very clean, close to Edgewood and the Lake.
Edgewood did a fantastic job with the wedding.
