My "Yes" was in answer to his first question which was :Has anyone visited Incline Village near Lake Tahoe?"
Still don't know what far from North Lake Tahoe means since Incline Village is in north lake tahoe and north lake tahoe isn't a place like South Lake Tahoe is.

Incline Village is on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. It's a place where rich Californians use as residences, so they pay much less taxes.
The North Shore is much smaller and less commerical than South Lake Tahoe, and is probably shrinking from the swinging days of the 1960s when Sinatra owned (with the mob) the Cal-Neva.
The ski resort is called Diamond Peak, and has a vertical of about 1800' or so, which is not bad for the area. There are lots of tiny communities around there, so any place on the North Shore near Incline should be fine.
My inlaws have a timeshare up there, and we usually take advantage of it.
