Lake Quinault Lodge
Weather permitting, if we drive from Ocean Shores up to Moclips and access Rte 26 toward Lake Quinault Lodge, are there hazards that dictate Rte 26 would not be a good choice? We would like to approach the Lodge from that route (giving us also some ocean views before Moclips) and leave by the southern route to head back toward Seattle, in order to get some different views. Also is the 30 mile Quinault Loop Road safe to drive on our own while we are at the Lodge? Guided tours, so far, are unavailable for June. Are there hazards we should expect on the Loop?

Hoping someone who has driven on these roads in and out of Lake Quinault Lodge can please give some advice. We know the roads can be slow for various reasons. We are also curious if the Quinault Loop Road is a recommended do-it-yourself. We will have a sedan rental, no all-wheel drive. Thanks for taking a minute to advise if you can.

I had not realized that route 26 is on a tribal reservation and that due to Covid and keeping residents safe, travel there is not advised. We have located alternate southern routes on Mapquest. Hoping those residents and all others in WA are doing better today.

meggies--Yes, the tribal lands around the ONP are all closed. Keep that I mind if you have Neah Bay/Cape Flattery, or Shi Shi, etc on your agenda. What route are you looking at, 101 from the south? That is what we do, although most of the time we are coming from the north.

Yes, mms, we will arrive by route 101. From what we see on the news reports, the Covid situation in most of Washington, including in Seattle is looking much better. We all have had our vaccinations and will make the most of Washington's great outdoors. Thanks to all for your advice!
