Lake Quinault Lodge or Quinault River Inn??
Hello,
Planning our road trip for Sept this year. Need lodging for 1 or 2 nights on Lake Quinault side of ONP. Have read reviews, etc of both of these places on tripadvisor...any info from Fodor readers??? There's a BIG difference in nightly charge...$105 vs $185 (approx).
If any of you have firsthand experience with either of these places I'd love to hear it - or any other place in that area.
Thanks in advance for your replies!

I can tell you that Lake Quinault Lodge is a good place to stay. We especially like the Fireplace Rooms, and we enjoy dinner in the dining room.
I've never stayed at Quinault River Inn, but I would trust the favorable reviews on TripAdvisor.

have stayed at lake quinault lodge a number of times, i like the historic ambience of the lobby and the beautiful location. my preference is either the fireplace rooms or the more modern lakeside rooms.
i've never heard of the other place. i have heard good things about the lake quinault resort on the opposite side of the lake from the lodge however.

Thanks...I have finally completed my itinerary ...how does this sound?
We are driving from San Jose, CA. Don't like to drive long distances unless absolutely necessary.
2 nights Medford w/Family
2 nights Best Western Hood River
3 nights Olympic Lodge, Port Angeles
3 nights Best Western Inner Harbour, Victoria
2 nights Lake Quinault Lodge (Fireplace rm)
Head back to San Jose and stay 'wherever' along the way for 1 or 2 nights.
Basically a counter-clockwise roadtrip.
Any input greatly appreciated!!

you know you're looking at pretty long drives from Medford to Hood River and from Hood River to Port Angeles, right?
imo 3 nights is a lot of time in victoria.
hopefully you can drive back down along the oregon coast--i'd personally consider taking a night away from victoria and add it to the drive home so you don't have to race and can make time for the coastal route--unless you've done it before?

Both of those drives are just over 5 hrs..we can do that as we take our time and stop along the way. I selected 3 nts for Victoria because it's probably the only time I'll ever go there. Besides, it's only 2 whole days there. I don't count the arrival day...get there mid to late afternoon.
Thanks
