Hi desertjoan,
We stayed at Kaibab Lodge in July 2005. Our room was upstairs in a building that had, I think, four rooms.
While the room was certainly basic, everything looked new and neat. There were two double beds, a table with chairs, and the bathroom. There was also a little deck that we enjoyed.
As you probably know, there are no TVs or telephones in the rooms, and there is no cell phone service.
That said, we enjoyed our short stay there. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the lodge is a short, pretty drive from the North Rim park.

Desertduds,
The Thunderbird Lodge is on the South Rim, is it not?
The Kaibab Lodge where we stayed is just five miles from the North Rim. If there is another on the South Rim, disregard my remarks!
