LA restaurant - hip and fun
We are going to LA for the week end...have enjoyed Mr. Chow in the past but want something new. I hear there are good restaurants on 3rd? Also, any good ones near UCLA campyus in Westwood? We want upscale.

In my most recent Zagat's newsletters:
David Geffen just opened the Carbon Beach Club in the Malibu Beach Inn: www.malibubeachinn.com/dining/index.cfm
Michel Richard opened Citrus at Social: www.chinagrillmgt.com/social/main.cfm
Mozza is still getting plenty of buzz. www.mozza-la.com

If you're looking for a good restaurant near UCLA/Westwood - consider Anna's (Italian) on Pico - it has been there forever and is FABULOUS! The food is wonderful and it's very "old school" where the waiters actually wait on you and treat you like you're someone special. It's also a pretty good place to possibly spot a celebrity or two as many celebrities come there often.

Century City isn't very far from UCLA. The restaurant "Craft" recently opened there (of Tom Colicchio fame).
