LA Help--LACMA to Norton Simon
Is this doable without to much traffic stress on a Saturday afternoon? I've never been to the Norton Simon and the only time I will be able to go on my latest trip to LA is on Saturday after I have been to see the Pushkin exhibition at LACMAC.

Finally got to the Norton Simon last week. Nice museum. Don't miss the sculpture gardens which we almost bypassed. And by the way, had the best iced latte ever in the garden.
By the way, had two funny things happen there. First I was sort of leaning in to read a caption next to a painting through by bifocals. A guard came up to me and asked me not to lean so close to the paintings as my breath could damage it. Huh? I was off to the side, and if I didn't lean in how could I possible read it? Oh well. Then in another room, I was standing about 15 feet back from a large painting and gesturing to my partner to the top of the painting. I happened to have the little map brochure in my hand. Another guard came to me and said, "we have a policy that you can't point to a painting with anything in your hand". Too funny. From 15 feet I was going to scratch the painting with my brochure??

How much time are we talking here? The Puskin is a wonderful exhibit with 40 or 50 paintings so allow enough time. Then you want to go to the Simon? What time are you planning on starting at LACMA? I think you should allow 45 minutes to the Simon. Traffic can be terrible or smooth, you just don't know and Sat can be awful.
P.S. Don't miss renting the headset tour for the Pushkin exhibit. They point out many interesting facts etc.

I live right near LACMA, and it usually takes me about 40-45 minutes to drive to Pasadena, where the Norton Simon is located. There shouldn't be too much traffic on a Saturday afternoon, unless a Dodger game is starting up or getting out. Then you'll hit a bunch of traffic on the 110 Fwy. Check the Dodgers schedule for that day online, and make sure you're not heading to Pasadena at that time.
They're both great museums. Enjoy!

I think you can bypass the 110 by taking the 101 toward downtown then slipping on the 2, getting off in Pasadena. You're right: The 110 can be a real bear if anything's going on at Dodger Stadium (or really anywhere downtown)....

The Norton Simon was lovely and 2 is a great route took about 40 minutes from LACMA --slow on the surface streets (W 3d and S. Vermont) and a slight backup on101 but 2 was great. Much faster coming back (got off at Melrose instead). Thanks again for tips and advice.
