You can walk from Phillipe's to the ball park - it is less than a mile. But others will have to tell you how to get from LAX to Phillipe's and from Chavez Ravine to UCLA.

No luggage, I hope.

I would take the LAX Flyaway bus to Union Station and walk to Phillipe's. The bus departs LAX on the hour and half-hour and takes from 30-50 minutes, depending on traffic. The walk to Phillipe's would take less than 10 minutes.

You could walk to Dodger Stadium, but I wouldn't. I'd take a taxi. There is bus service for part of the route, but you'd have to walk a few blocks to catch the bus which would drop you below the stadium and you'd have to walk up to the hill. The taxi would be door to door and take 1/4 the time.

You could take Metro Line 2 from near Dodger Stadium to UCLA. Walk down the hill from the stadium to Sunset Boulevard/Elysian Park Avenue. The ride would take 60-90 minutes depending on traffic, and the fare would be $1.50.

The last departure of the LAX Flyaway bus from Westwood is at 10:00 p.m. There is local bus service after that time.

BTW, because of where you would need to go at Dodger Stadium for the tour, the walk from Phillipe's would be 1.8 miles.

I just looked at the Dodger website for tour times. I don't know when you're planning your trip, but at this point the tours are only done at 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. So, you'd need to do the stadium tour before Phillipe's.

This changes your trans options slightly. I'd still bus to Union Station and then choose between taking Local 2 to the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Elysian Park Avenue (walk up the hill to the stadium) or taking a cab. After the tour, bus back to Union Station and walk to Phillipe's or cab directly to the restaurant.

After lunch, walk to Union Station and take Line 2 to UCLA. Allow 2 hours for the bus ride to UCLA. A taxi would take 45-60 minutes and cost about $55-60.

Thank you Jean for the very helpful hints on getting around. With a 1000 arrival at LAX looks like I will have to CX the Dodger Stadium tour.Next question, are there cool late night spots (food drinks, jazz?) within walking distance of Pauley Pav? The practicle side of me says get a room at LAX and don't fly back east on a red-eye-It will have been a pretty full day!

If your UCLA evening is mid-week, your late-night options will be limited. Here's a link that might help:
