Have done it twice. Once we were staying at the Sheraton right in Poipu so we didn't have to drive as it was practically in front of the hotel. The other time we drove over from Princeville and didn't have problems parking in a large field for the activities. Enjoy Kauai - it is a little bit of paradise - actually it is a lot of paradise!

Harry,
Nine days for us! We'll be at the parade too!
We've been to the parade and the food/crafts/music festival once before. We parked a few blocks away on one of the side streets and I don't recall that it was that hard to find a spot. It's a pretty low-key and homegrown event. It's a lot of fun! Be sure to have a fresh, piping hot malasada at the food tent. DELICIOUS.
Are you going to be able to come to the GTG on August 2nd?. Here is the thread:

Auntiemaria, her husband, RichinPA, his wife and my partner and me are all meeting at the Happy Talk Lounge at the Hanalei Bay Resort on the north shore at 5:30 on the 2nd. Drinks, pupus, music, hula and chit-chat will fellow fodorites! Look for the balloon.
