For all you baseball fans in Minnesotta, Kirby Puckett passed away this after noon from a stroke.
He was a great player and a wonderfull person.

Thanks.

I'm a Minnesota native and he brought us a lot of thrills including two World Series Championships.

I'll always remember his great attitude for baseball and his smle.

Kirby! Kirby! Kirby!

My daughters were born during those wonderful World Series years. We had an anesthesiologist suggest we name our youngest daughter Kirby. (we did not) My older daughter used to wave her blankie like a homer hanky and say "Kirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrby Puckett!" Sad news today.

That's too bad. 8 days shy of his 45th birthday.

I lived in Minn. 17 years and was there for the glorious world series years led by the Puck.
In approx. 1995 he was diagnosed with glaucoma and retired from baseball. The last few years he had put on enormous weight and was quite obese.
But I'll bet he was still smiling as he always did.
A great loss!
