Kids @ Bellagio?

I'm thinking of planning a 3-4 nighter @ Bellagio with four thirteen year old girls...I'm not a gambler, just thought I'd go to "O" show and enjoy the pools...are kids of that age welcomed or frowned upon? Any input would be appreciated. I will certainly be realistic if taking the kids is a bad idea. Thanks for any help.

Although the Bellagio would be fine, your girls might enjoy the pools at Mandalay Bay more. It is a lot more fun than the Bellagio. Check out this site for the lowdown on Vegas pools:

I think there are lots of nice hotels that are more kid-friendly than Bellagio. So many actually have "rides" for kids to enjoy...If I were taking 4 girls there, I'd stay elsewhere. Bellagio is much more adult oriented for gambling. Kay

Bellagio is much more adult oriented for gambling?
You mean as opposed to the ones that are more kid-oriented?

While you are more then welcome to stay at Bellagio with kids that age you will need 2 rooms. There is a max occupancy of 4 to a room. Also just to stay there for O is a mistake IMO. The show is what 2 hours? I do have to say for the age group your bringing I think Mandalay is your best bet!!!! My neighbor just took her 5th grader there and loved it!!!!

Isuggest the MGM it's cheaper than the mandolin bay and has about the same as far as the pool goes.Plus you can walk to alot of places or take the tram from the MGM to another Casino, also the Mall is nice there. The tram takes you to Ballys, which is across the street to the Bellagio(It's more of a classy HIGH ROLLER TYPE PLACE)STILL FUN TO GO AND CHECK OUT BUT NOT stay.MGM is more teen friendly.MY 12 YR OLD DAUGHTER ENJOYS THE mgm MORE.

The kids would have a much better time at a hotel other than the Bellagio, as it's not that kid friendly.

If you were thinking of the Bellagio becuase you wanted to be able to get ticket to "O" before available to the rest of the public, you could stay at The Mirage or Treasure Island as well and have early access to tickets, as they are all owned by the same company.

Of those 2, i like the Mirage the best.

As I recall, when the Bellagio first opened children were not particularly welcome at all. I have no idea what the policy is now, but I don't think 13 year olds would be happy in a hotel that primarily caters to adults. I agree that you should consider another place.

Check out the Bellagio's website. They have restrictions requiring an adult (anyone over 18) to accompany younger children a number of places inside the hotel.

I agree that Bellagio is not the best choice for a person with children.

There is a limited universe of "kid" approved type eating establishments in the hotel and no food court. For adults, that isn't issue but for teens it might be.

I'd second that the pool and tropical environment at Mandalay are probably better suited to 4 teenage girls.

Interesting advice from Lori.
There's no such place as "Mandolin Bay", and her message makes it abundantly clear she's never seen Mandalay Bay's pool area. You only have to take a glance at the pool complex to know it puts MGM, and all other pools in LV, to shame.
The resort is practically built around the huge pool complex. It's the hotel's most outstanding feature.

As for Bellagio, their kid policy is no unescorted kids allowed on the premises at all. Fine if their guests and have a room key, but they're not to be in the shopping areas and such alone. The pools there are great for adults. Very elegant feeling and refined.
Mandalay's pools are built with kids in mind. Fun, variety, spread out, wave pool, lazy river, beach, etc.

Hard Rock Hotel allows an unlimited number of occupants per room and has a large lagoon style pool with cool music that you can hear underwater.

I used to live in Vegas and I was recently there to visit and when I was there I made a mental note that if I ever had kids, I would never bring them to Vegas. Too sleazy. Even in classy places like Bellagio any pervert off the street can walk in...and believe me, vegas attracts tons of those types. Anyway, if you must bring kids I would stay at Mandalay Bay or the Mirage. M-Bay has the best pool and is off the strip a bit but the free tram will get you where you want to go in no time.

Belagio isn't the place for you.
New York New York had lots of kids as well as the big Camelot Castle (can't remember the name, sorry) on the corner. This Castle Hotel had more kids than any place we wandered into. In fact this is part of why we were turned off...kids everywhere and my wife and I were on our honeymoon! Belagio appealed to us because it had the fewest kids. My wife just found out she's pregnant so someday when we return to L.V., we too will want to be where there ARE kids! Enjoy. P.S. Someone tell me the name of this Castle Hotel so I don't drive myself nuts trying to remember it!

Mark, might you referring to The Excalibur? This is a "kid's" Disneyland here in Vegas.
