Key West Trip Report!

Well - we just got back last night from our week long trip to Key West. Anyone who says that a week is too long- just might be crazy...It was my first time there and it definitely wont be my last. We had such a blast and thanks to all of you and your good tips we really enjoyed it greatly. We stayed in the Truman Annex in a house. (highly reccomend)

As for restaurants/bars- we loved B.O's so much we went twice! Louie's was incredible and totally worth the price! We also did Roof Top Cafe for lunch and loved it so much we went back that night for drinks and some apps(great Sangria).. another favorite was the half shell for 50cent oysters(and fun shuffle board)...you couldnt beat it! Also, Fogartys was great! Cowboy Bills was our favorite bar hang out- as we all love country music.
Big-Ums, Irish Kevins, and Sloppy Joes were also fan favorites!

We did Danger Charters full-day trip. Thanks PJK- it was incredible...we saw wild life, did some great snorkeling and mostly enjoyed the great personalities and stories from the crew on board. Oh ya and the drinks were ice cold!
We also took the ferry over to Sunset Key for the day- where we swam in the pool and ocean, laid on the lounge chairs and had a great lunch by the pool- totally worth the $40... we even thought of going back if we had time.

The guys did a half day fishing trip wtih Capt. Dan and unfortunately it turned out to be a bust.. he was late getting to the boat and was unprepared. But, like they said a bad day fishing is good day anwhere else!

Overall we loved it there! Thanks for all the great tips and help

It's great to hear you had such a good time. We love staying in the Truman Annex also and BO's is a favorite of ours.

Sounds like you did what you wanted and there is plenty left to see and do on your second trip.

Next time rent a boat for a couple of days.

You must visit the Dry Tortugas. Totally awesome trip and I highly suggest you go by plane instead of fast cat.

Sadly, the planes are no longer going to the Dry Tortugas.

I'm glad you enjoyed Danger. Once in a while people are disappointed in the snorkling, but there is never a guarentee about the clarity of the water or what you will see. Their crews are the happiest bunch of people I've ever seen

A tip for next time...Danger does a Wind & Wine wine-tasting sunset sail. The trip is nice but they seldom use up all of the wine, so they keep it on board for the next day. Check the yellow, plastic tub amidships. Nothing like snorkling then sipping a chilled Chardony.

Did you sample the new tapas bar at Louis? Im going to check it out this May.

Thanks
Pjk
