KEY LARGO
Hello,
My husband and I just returned from Key West and had a wonderful time! We stayed at the La Te Da hotel. Not a bad hotel, but needs some renovations. Very gay friendly, which is fine, but sometimes we felt uncomfortable.
If anyone wants any suggestions for restaurants or anything else, let me know!
We had looked at staying at the Heron House next time, has anyone ever stayed there or heard anything about it?
Also, has anyone out there stayed in Key Largo?
Thanks so much!

Janie,
My husband and I stayed at the La Te Da a couple of years ago. Like you said, nice, but needs to be updated. We said though, that a weekend was good, but after that we'd have to leave. It was super gay! Had a fun time at the bars, but it started to be strange after a while.
Glad we aren't the only ones to have thought that.
Ciao, Melissa

Hi, My husband and I will be going on our 1st trip to Key West at the end of April. I would love suggestions on bars, restaurants, etc. Did you go to Smathers or any beaches in the Keys? We are staying at Best Western Hibiscus which I know is somewhat of a walk to activites. Did you drive down? If so, maybe you have some tips. We have planned on staying in Islamorada on 1 night going down. Thanks

Hello Linman,
Restaurants: A&B Lobster House, Conch Republic-lunch, Square 1, Michaels-steak, Mangoes, Bangatelle-great food-but svc wasn't so great, El mason De Pepe-mojitos.
Bars: Ricks, Virgilio-excellent music, martinis, Conch Republic, do the Duval Crawl and just go into each one-no cover. Hogs Breathe, Sloppy Joes was a rip-off.
Rent bicycles-excellent way to get around!
Duval Beach Club, Ft Zachary Beach. Also, rent lounge chairs at Sounthern Most Mansion-free drink and chair for $8.
We flew down.
Have fun! We did!
