Kauai--Sheraton Poipu or Whaler's Cove
My wife and I are spending a week in Kauai and have narrowed down our lodging choices to Whaler's Cove or the Sheraton, both ocean front. Any recommendations?

Aloohaaaa,
AuntiM and the lovely Suuuuuuzie can correct me if I'm wrong but there isn't a swimming beach right there at the Whaler is there?
We did a quick drive by to check it out and while the place looked really nice with a GREAT view, I recall a bunch of rocks and no beach.
Were those rocks in my head or whuuut?
:-?
Nice piece of beach right there at the Sheraton. Especially during whale season when they come in pretty close.

Whaler's Cove is very nice and very private. Lanai's are huge.
Though there is no sandy beach there are stairs that lead you to the water and pretty good snorkeling. Whaler's Cove is on a rocky point and the pool is practically in the ocean so when you lay out by the pool it's like being at the beach without the sand! We stayed in Building 1 which we thought was better than building 2 as the views are unobstructed. Building 1 kind of obscures some of the view for building 2 but nothing obscures the view for building 1. Nothing between you and the ocean, except for your clothes of course
We used Suite Paradise and asked for the building 1 and the second floor. We stayed in unit 123. Building 1 Floor 2 unit 3. That's how they number them.
