Kauai Rental Houses

Our family of 5 would like to rent a house on Kauai in June 2007 (7 - 10 days). We are hoping to find an ocean front home within walking distance of a nice beach on the North Shore. Can anyone recommend specific properties or a reputable rental company? We would need 3 or 4 bedrooms and would like to keep the price under $3500 for a week. I would also appreciate recommendations for towns/beaches that would be good for this type of rental. In the past we have always stayed at the Kiahuna Plantation in Poipu, but thought we'd try the North Shore for a change. Thanks in advance for your help!

We've used http://www.remaxkauai.com/rek/rentals/homes.html before for precisely what you desire. Princeville is a very nice choice.

When I was in Poipu in August, our large family group was approached by a former SF Bay Area escapee who now lives in Kauai with his wife and has acquired 2 properties. We were in the park across from Brennecke's Broiler and he said that if were interested in renting a home on our next visit, we might consider renting his 2nd property.

While this house is not beachfront, it is an easy walk from the beach. The size is right for your group. Although I have not rented from him, my feeling from our 15 minute conversation was fine.

His property is named Hale Laka and website is www.kauaibythebeach.com

Our rental was right behind this one and we had the opportunity to take a look at while it was between renters. It is very nice and is right across Weke Rd. from Hanalei Bay.

Bill, I was hoping you would post a reply! We're still talking about and recommending Graham House in Sea Ranch! This Kauai house does look very nice with a great location, and your recommendations are right on target! I'll check it out - thanks!

We stayed oceanfront in a 4 bedroom house on Anini Beach and really liked it. The rental agency is Serenity Rentals. We stayed at Ohana Anini

meo,
If you want to see where the house is located, google-map 5039 Weke Road in Hanalei. That is the address of the place we stayed in and as I said, it was directly in front of us on Weke Road. Good location.

Bill- Looks like an ideal location. I appreciate your recommendation and the suggestion to look at Google Maps.

MarleneSusan- Thanks - Ohana Anini also looks nice!

I'm checking availability, and hope to have something pinned down in the near future.

Thanks again!

Go to www.kauaivacationrentals.com. Stay in Hale Makana in Haena. We stayed there ten years ago. The price has gone up too much for us now. From the pictures, it must still be the same owner... because everything looks the same. It is MAGIC. The screened in lani has Bali Hai as a view. The grounds, views, beach and house are all MAGIC.

We stayed at this place for a week this past June and highly recommend it:

It's not right on the beach but very close....close enough to hear the waves from the master bedroom. The beach is Makau (Tunnels) Beach and it is just wonderful! We really enjoyed the north shore a lot.
